BROOME COUNTY, N.Y. – The Maine-Endwell School District is taking the unusual step of mid-year staff cuts to help ease the burden on next year's budget.
The board met in executive session Thursday night, where it decided to go ahead with the reductions.
The board will not comment on what positions will be eliminated or how many, but staff members will be notified between now and January 10th.
The Maine-Endwell School District is still in the midst of budget planning for 2013. The preliminary spending plan was also presented to the public Thursday night.
