Police are looking for the driver of an SUV involved in a suspicious and troubling incident outside the Cicero Wal-Mart. A 13-year-old girl and her one-year-old sister were approached in the parking lot. They are both safe and it was all caught on camera. As our Iris St. Meran explains, investigators credit smart thinking by the teen for getting to safety.

CICERO, N.Y. -- Vehicles come and go to and from this Wal-Mart in Cicero 24 hours a day. But police are paying particular attention to the driver of this black SUV who was driving around Tuesday afternoon.

Cicero Police Investigator James Meyers said, "He very clearly luring around lurking around the parking lot up and down aisles in and out of parking spaces slowly."

From this surveillance video, the driver appears to be following a 13-year-old girl who was walking with her one-year-old sister in a stroller. The two had just left the store. Police say the man drives by the girl and stops then keeps going.

"So he was clearly watching for her," said Meyers.

He drives around some more, pulling in and out of parking spots.

When the man does finally approach her, he doesn't get out. Instead, he asks her from the vehicle where she lives, what's her name and if she needs a ride. She says no and gives fake information. Then he asks her if she's afraid to ride with an older man.

Meyers says she did the right thing by not giving her information and not getting into the vehicle. It appears the teen was a random target.

"It appears he was thinking about approaching a different female now he approaches this 13-year-old,” Meyers added. “Very disturbing on all ends and scary."

A scary situation, which had a happy ending because the girls are safe and sound. Police are now hoping someone recognizes the car or the driver so they can get to the bottom of this to protect others.

The man involved is described as possibly being in his early 30s, with blond hair, a slim build and no facial hair. Police think vehicle is a Black 2001 to 2004 Hyundai Santa Fe with gold New York license plates.

It's unclear if there will be any charges. Investigator Meyers says that depends on what comes of their investigation.
