SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- With the race for the 24th Congressional district drawing national attention, we want to remind you that YNN and the Campbell Public Affairs Institute at Syracuse University are preparing to host a debate for the hotly contested seat.

YNN will air the debate live on Monday, October 29th at 7 p.m., and you can be a part of the event.

Republican Congresswoman Ann Marie Buerkle and Green Party candidate Ursula Rozum will be there. Democrat Dan Maffei has declined our invitation so far, citing concerns about the format. But a podium will be set up and available for Maffei, should he change his mind.

The debate will be held at the Time Warner Cable studio in East Syracuse, and limited in-studio seating is available.

If you’d like to attend, email by 5 p.m. Wednesday, October 23rd. Please indicate if you’re coming by yourself or with a guest. Those selected by lottery will be notified by Friday, October 26. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
