It may still be early fall, but many retailers are hoping you're in the mood to deck the halls with early shopping and savings. Stores around the region have started setting up Christmas decorations in the last couple of weeks. Our Katie Husband checked out the aisles decked with silver and gold.

BIG FLATS, N.Y. -- 'Tis the season for some holiday October? Target employees have seen the holiday buzz before the trick-or-treating.

"We've seen a lot of interest in it, a lot of conversation with our guests. Everyone's starting to get excited some are a little bit panicked, but we're here to help them out the best way we can," said Ben Hoke, Target store manager.

The retail store has begun stocking Christmas products to beat the economic lull.

"It's that time of year people start to plan for that. In today's economy people are more conscientious about making purchases so by providing them with more time, more ideas we're hoping to capture that crowd," said Hoke.

Right now you can find just two aisles of simple indoor, outdoor holiday products.

"Lighting, your reindeer, Frosty the Snowman is up this year, things aimed towards that right now. And, a lot of greeting cards and seasonal greeting cards as well," said Hoke.

As soon as Halloween is over these shelves are going to be stocked with Christmas items and they have extra employees coming on board to help them prepare for the upcoming holiday season.

"We try to bring in our seasonal team members. We get them in as early as we can, in fact we started last week or so and we're really looking to get those excellent, high speed really fun people to come in and really help our guests because that's who we really look for when we hire people," said Hoke.

If you're looking for a Christmas tree, it is too early for them, but they are expected to hit the shelves in the next few weeks. ClientIP:,, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
