CENTRAL NEW YORK -- Central New Yorkers can help flood victims in the Southern Tier with a little spare change. Dunkin' Donuts announced Tuesday that their fourth quarter spare change program will be designated to the region through the Red Cross.

The program was launched in 2009. Canisters are placed near the register for people to donate their change to a specific charity.

The Red Cross is usually the organization to benefit in the fourth quarter, but this time around, the money collected is earmarked specifically for the Disaster Relief Fund.

"We're very proud of our relationship with Dunkin Donuts. And we thank Dunkin Donuts and its customers so much for providing this great donation over the next three months," said Red Cross Public Support Director Dick Blansett.

Since its inception Dunkin Donuts' spare change program has raised more than $230,000 to benefit local charities including D.A.R.E. , Make-A-Wish and the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
