SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- Syracuse football coach Doug Marrone had his game-face on when he met the local media after SU's practice Tuesday night.
Marrone, who had closed off media access to practice and his players this week, offered to make himself available after Tuesday and Wednesday's practices. But when a local beat writer pressed Marrone for some details on Tuesday's scrimmage, the coach clammed up and later said, "I don't know what the problem is. I asked for help."
Marrone is believed to be trying to hide the injury status of some of his key players for this weekend's Big East opener.
The Orange coach is unbeaten in two games against this week's opponent, Rutgers.
Kickoff with the Scarlet Knights is scheduled for 12:00 p.m. Saturday, and the game will be shown live on Time Warner Cable Sports.
