Drivers asked to report potholes to DOT

  • Text size: + -

NEW YORK STATE -- If you're sick of driving over bumpy roadways, the state wants you to let them know. The New York Department of Transportation is reminding motorists to report potholes on highways.

Potholes are the result of a cycle of freezing and thawing temperatures and the DOT says the best way to keep track of them is with reports from drivers.

Potholes on highways should be reported to the State DOT, while those on town or village streets should be reported to your local municipality.

To contact the state department of transportation, call the roadway hotline at 1-800-POTHOLE or 1-800-768-4653. ClientIP:, UserAgent: CCBot/2.0 ( Profile: TWCSAMLSP
