SYRACUSE, N.Y. -- There's a new addition to the Western Lights Shopping Plaza in Syracuse. Sporting goods chain Herb Philipson's opened its seventh store Tuesday in the Plaza.
The 35,000 square foot store specializes in a variety of sporting goods and clothing. The location is also the second store in the Syracuse area and is one of several recent additions to the Western Lights area.
"There's a lot of activity if you come right to this area, right around the Western Lights Area between Price Chopper that is here and Wegmans is across the street. Tim Hortons is coming, Value Home Center is here so there's just a tremendous amount of activity and this area seems like a shopping Mecca," said Gary Philipson, Herb Philipson's President.
Herb Philipson's opened their first store in Rome back in 1951.
