BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- For the next three-and-a-half weeks, Binghamton's Otsiningo Park will be illuminated for the eighth annual Hometown Holiday Light Festival. The event opened Thursday and runs until the end of December.
For $8, you can drive around as many times as you'd like. The money goes to benefit the Southern Tier Independence Center, which is celebrating its 25th anniversary. The lights festival is their biggest fundraiser of the year.
"It's a nice break, when you're out shopping you have the kids, you want to just have a couple minutes to decompress and drive through and just enjoy the lights," said Gina Giglio, Developmental Director at Southern Tier Independence Center.
The event is open from 5 to 9 p.m. each night.
